TODD BOULDIN

Todd Bouldin is an entrepreneur, speaker and corporate trainer who seeks to make a difference across a wide spectrum of institutions and organizations. He is an accomplished entertainment and hospitality consultant, a corporate trainer and attorney. As President and Managing Partner of Renaissance Communications Group, Todd's unique and varied background allows him and his partners to offer a rich array of services to clients that range from hotel companies, to film productions, to Fortune 500 companies.

Todd resides both in Los Angeles and Nashville, and serves clients throughout the United States. Todd is a facilitator and speaker for Fortune 500 companies including Avis Budget Group, Starwood Hotels and Resorts, Amgen Pharmaceutical and Marriott Autograph Collection. His expertise includes customer experience management, brand and service culture training, and leadership development. Todd is an adjunct professor of business communications at the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California, and a former visiting and adjunct professor of organizational leadership at Pepperdine University's Graduate School of Education and Psychology.

Todd specializes in helping organizations transform their customer experience into experiential strategies that leave the customer with unforgettable memories and a stimulation of their senses that keep them coming back time and time again. Since 2007, Todd has consulted with premium and luxury brands including Avis Rental Car, The Sheraton Park Tower London, The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, The W Minneapolis and The SLS Beverly Hills Hotel by SBE.

While at Pepperdine, Todd also taught as a Visiting Assistant Professor of political science and government relations. Before entering academics, Todd managed several political campaigns and government offices.  He was the legislative director to U.S. Representative, Bob Clement from 1995-1997 and a counselor to the Vice President of the United States in 2001.


As the coordinator of Pepperdine's entertainment and media initiatives, Todd created the University's first ever Master of Fine Arts degree in screen and television writing. In this role, Todd helped to recruit many entertainment experts to teach at Pepperdine including Braveheart screenwriter Randall Wallace and Bruce Almighty director Tom Shadyac. He also worked with other stakeholders to create and direct the development of a new media center which brings together the university's students and faculty in interdisciplinary and integrated entertainment pursuits. Todd forged new relationships for the university with partners such as Act One, Inc., Disney, Participants Productions, Paramount Pictures, and New Line Cinemas and coordinated the branding of the initiative with the university's branding initiatives. In all of this work, Todd has envisioned entertainment programs that are ethically responsible and socially transformative. Todd coined the phrase "cultural leader" to describe the role of entertainers in culture, and this term is now being used by those throughout the entertainment industry and is the subject of an annual gathering on the topic at the Sundance Film Festival.


Todd has spoken to audiences throughout the world including over 40 states, Europe, Africa and the Middle East. His topics include customer experience management, branding, political leadership, and entertainers as culture creators and leaders. He is the author multiple published articles on vocation, career choice, and leadership. He has presented at conferences and lectures at UCLA, UC Santa Barbara, General Theological Seminary in New York City, Abilene Christian University, Pepperdine University and Lipscomb University.

Todd received his Bachelor of Arts from Abilene Christian University, his Master of Divinity degree from Princeton Theological Seminary and his Juris Doctorate from the University of Tennessee College of Law. Todd was Managing Editor of The Tennessee Law Review and studied European policy at the University of Bonn, Germany.

Film and acting is one of Todd's passions. He recently served as the Technical Advisor to Director Jon Favreau for a congressional scene in the upcoming Marvel Studios Release, Iron Man 2. He also is a lead extra in the film where he plays the role as the aide to a Senator. Todd also has been a script and production advisor for documentaries and independent film projects. He has appeared as featured background in Grey's Anatomy, Mike and Molly, The Middle, Big Love, CSI NY, and the film Beverly Hills Chihuahua 2.

Todd is an avid fan of the Tennessee Volunteers and USC Trojans football teams, enjoys hiking, the beach, film, international travel, writing, reading history, and dining at the nation's finest restaurants and dives.
